The State Championship was held on S.T.A.R facilities on Balsa Nova, a city near to the capitol of Paraná, on December 3-4. The track is fantastic and it is situated on a very beautiful farm.

After months of raining and cold weather, we had a sunny weekend and we were very excited to race on it. The race format was the same as the Reedy Race. All drivers raced 8 heats of 5 minutes each with 1 discard.

XRAY TEAM BRASIL was all there with Fabiano Franco (XRAY T1 FKâ™05), Flávio Salinet (XRAY T1 FKâ™05), Horácio Ferreira (XRAY T1 EVO2), and Jonas Ferstemberg (XRAY T1 EVO2).

Saturday was scheduled for practice, so all racing started on Sunday morning with the first heat starting at 11:00AM and all heats finishing by 7:00PM on the sunny day.

In the first heat, Fabiano Franco and Flávio Salinet reach 23 laps but Flavioâ™s car was 3 grams underweight so he was disqualified for the first heat. Since the rules state that a disqualification couldnâ™t be discarded, Flavio did not have chance of a good result anymore. Fabiano Franco was in the TOP 3 all the way.

After 7 heats and 1 to go, Fabiano Franco was 2 laps ahead of Clarel Castilhos. Fabiano needed only to finish on the same lap as Clarel Castilhos or 1 lap behind; he ended up finishing on the same lap. In the last heat, Clarel Castilhos won with 23 laps followed by Fabiano Franco also with 23 laps.

XRAY TQ'd with Gilnei Anselmo and won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP with Fabiano Franco and 2 more cars in the TOP 10.

Our race season ended with good results. Fabiano Franco won the Brazilian Nationals in the Modified class, was Vice-champion of the Brazilian Indoor Championship in the Modified class, and Flávio Salinet was Vice-champion of the Brazilian Indoor in Stock class.
We always end the year with a traditional race called 1001 LAPS of CURITIBA in which we race in teams of 2 drivers each. Only 10 teams can race. This race is a friendship race that ends with a barbecue after 3 hours and 30 minutes of racing.
